I’m finding all kinds of cool software, tools and apps to share with you lately. A couple of them have actually been recommendations from others. Last week I told you about RecurPost, a free social media scheduling app that recycles evergreen content, recommended by one of my team members. This week’s is a very unique (and reasonably priced) CRM tool recommended by a prospective client, called Cloze. It’s the little beauty I mentioned in the Monday Marketing BizTip – on Tuesday live video I did.
Follow up, follow up, follow up. Yes, I know I say that all the time, but it’s an area where so many business owners fall short. I can’t tell you how important it is to the life of your business. That is if you’re interested in having clients.

Sortd is touted as the “first-ever smart skin for Gmail.” If you are one of those people who finds themselves forwarding important emails to yourself just to keep them top-of-mind, Sortd might be just the ticket for you. The beauty of Sortd is that is doesn’t change the function of Gmail, just the organization factor and how things are displayed in your inbox. Basically, Sortd lets users customize their emails into lists with a cool drag-n-drop feature that enables them to keep their high priority tasks or information (that can’t be done immediately) from slipping off their radar.
Sortd allows users to sort emails into columns like “to-do” or “events,” and even lets them change the subject line of the email itself, all without ever leaving Gmail. Sortd also has a “follow up” column to help busy entrepreneurs separate t he important things from the noise in a streamlined and effective way.
Sortd is currently in Beta and is a free service, but works only in Chrome.
